Statement from Chairman Wright Following The 2026 General Election

Wells County Republicans delivered strong results today, with every race featuring a local Republican candidate ending in a Republican victory.

I am especially pleased with the results of our first-ever partisan school board elections. Republican candidates won, including one who defeated an opponent who chose not to disclose his political affiliation to voters. Voters deserve to know where candidates stand. With more school board seats up for election in two years, I hope prospective candidates take note and choose to file on a party ticket.

Wells County remains a Republican stronghold, but we never take that for granted. Our candidates worked hard, our volunteers showed up, and our voters delivered. Voter turnout in Wells County was 44.33%. Thank you to everyone who voted, volunteered, supported our candidates, and patiently waited for results.

We continue following the statewide races as results come in, but we have plenty to celebrate here at home. Our attention now turns to next year's municipal elections. More work lies ahead, and the Wells County Republican Party stands ready.

Congratulations to all of our Republican candidates, and thank you to everyone who helped make these victories possible.
