Wells County Republican Party Announces Resignation of Ossian Clerk-Treasurer Carolyn Bertsch

Bluffton, IN – Wells County Republican Party Chairman Preston Wright announced today that Ossian Clerk-Treasurer Carolyn Bertsch has submitted her resignation, effective September 5, 2025.

Bertsch has a long record of public service, having served two terms as Wells County Recorder before serving as the Ossian Clerk-Treasurer.

“We are grateful to Carolyn for her years of dedicated service to Wells County and the Town of Ossian,” said Chairman Wright. “Her commitment to the community and her work on behalf of Wells County residents have been greatly appreciated. With several transitions in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office over the past several years, I hope the Ossian Town Council will take the necessary steps to ensure the office is properly supported and sustained to continue serving residents effectively.”

Details regarding a caucus to fill the upcoming vacancy will be announced at a later date.
