Wells County Republican Party Announces AJ Springer Selected to Serve as Jefferson Township Trustee

Bluffton, IN – The Wells County Republican Party is pleased to announce that AJ Springer has been selected to fill the vacancy in the Office of Jefferson Township Trustee.

Springer was the only candidate to file a Declaration of Candidacy to seek the position. Pursuant to Indiana Code 3-13-11-10(c), Wells County Republican Chairman Preston T. Wright officially selected Springer to serve as Jefferson Township’s next Trustee. He will assume office on September 1, 2025, following the resignation of Trustee Larry Heckber.

“AJ brings a passion for service and a strong commitment to his community, and he’s ready to step up to the challenge,” said Preston T. Wright, Chairman of the Wells County Republican Party. “His experience on the Jefferson Township Advisory Board and dedication to doing what’s best for his neighbors make him well-suited to step into this role. We’re confident he will continue to serve the residents of Jefferson Township with integrity and care.”

Springer has served on the Jefferson Township Advisory Board since 2023 and works in the automotive industry. He holds a degree from Huntington University.

Springer’s selection to the Trustee’s office creates a Jefferson Township Advisory Board vacancy. Chairman Wright anticipates announcing a caucus soon.
