Wells County Republican Party to Hold Caucus for Jefferson Township Advisory Board Vacancy
Bluffton, IN – The Wells County Republican Party has announced plans to conduct a caucus to fill a vacancy on the Jefferson Township Advisory Board. The vacancy was created following the resignation of Tim Baker, effective December 19, 2025.
The caucus is scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2026, at 6:30 PM. It will be held at the Wells County Republican Headquarters, located at 125 S Johnson St in Bluffton.
Candidates interested in being considered for the position must meet the following qualifications:
Be a “Qualified Primary Republican” as defined by Indiana Republican State Committee Rule 1-24, meaning a voter who cast a Republican Party ballot at the two most recent primary elections in Indiana in which the voter voted, and who is a Republican in good standing
Reside within Jefferson Township, Wells County
Meet all requirements to hold the office of Township Advisory Board as outlined in the Indiana Code
Interested candidates are required to file a Declaration of Candidacy, Form CEB-5, with Caucus Chairman Preston T. Wright no later than 72 hours prior to the caucus. Completed forms should be submitted by email to caucus@wells.gop. The CEB-5 form may be accessed online through the Indiana Secretary of State’s website at https://www.in.gov/sos/elections/election-administrators-portal/election-forms/.
