Hilarie Gaskill Selected as Next Wells County Coroner

Bluffton, IN – The Wells County Republican Party is pleased to announce that Hilarie Gaskill has been selected to serve as the next Wells County Coroner. Her appointment was made official during a caucus held this evening.

Gaskill was the only candidate to file for the position prior to the 72-hour deadline. As a result, pursuant to Indiana Code 3-13-11-10(c), a vote of the precinct committeemen was not required. Her pro tempore appointment will extend through December 31, 2028.

She previously served as Coroner from 2017 through 2024, bringing years of experience back to the office. Her appointment is effective immediately, and she is expected to be sworn in early this week.

“With nearly three decades of experience in death investigation, emergency medical response, and public service, I remain deeply committed to serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and compassion,” Gaskill said. “It is an honor to once again have the opportunity to serve the people of Wells County.”
